When you are hungry but only have one hour lunch break, fast food is definitely a convenient and affordable lunch choice! The Humber Spots team has tried different fast food places around Humber College. We are honored to share our secret list with you. Let’s go!

Spot 1: Humber Hot Dog Stand

Humber hot dog stand offers different sausage options such as beef and veggie

Subway, Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza……you may immediately think of these spots when discussing fast food options at Humber. Come on! It’s just too common and they are not on our secret list for sure! Our first choice is a little hot dog stand. Its location is a bit concealed. You need to go out of building E through the exit near Gourmet Express and then turn left.

Nothing fancy. The stand offers classic hot dogs, but the staff really do well on grilling sausage (everybody agrees that sausage is the soul of a hot dog!!). Crispy and juicy! You can choose from beef, chicken, spicy and even veggie sausages. Our team thinks that all are excellent. Like any typical hot dog stand. Tailor-made your own flavor with various sauces and toppings. Special tip: you can get a discount for cash payment. You should agree that it’s a truly tasty, affordable lunch!

Spot 2: City South Pizza

City South Pizza uses local ingredients and fresh dough to make pizza

Although there is Pizza Pizza at Humber College, sometimes we may want to try another pizza shop! There is a plaza nearby: Humber 27 Plaza, just a 10-minute walk from the campus. Different kinds of restaurants and fast food shops are located here. City South Pizza is one of them. 

The pizza shop prepares fresh dough every morning and uses local ingredients. That’s why its pizzas taste good. Our team member loves its pepperoni pizza — a perfect match with savory cheese and tangy tomato sauce. Simple, basic and delicious! Unsure about choosing the toppings? We recommend you try the butter chicken pizza. Few pizza shops offer this flavor! 

City South Pizza has a walk-in special on the menu. A single topping small pizza costs only $7.99 (excluding tax), along with a free dipping sauce. If you eat like a bird, you’d better share it with your friend.

Spot 3: Hub Burritos

Hub Burritos offers meat and veggie flavours for different Mexican dishes

Not a big fan of pizza? There are other fast food places at Humber 27 Plaza. Hub Burritos is another pick of our team. It is a Mexican grill shop which offers burritos, nachos, tacos, bowls and even cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory!

Hub Burritos has a wide variety of flavor options for different dishes, such as ground beef, chipotle chicken and sriracha fish. Our team loves that the shop also offers veggie flavor — a great choice for something fresh in the hot summer! If you are a spicy lover, don’t hesitate to choose hot sauce or fire sauce (we are not brave enough to try fire sauce — three chili icons!!).
